Celebrating The Lunar New Year With Hong Kong Tourism Board
Read on to learn how we helped the Hong Kong Tourism Board celebrate the Chinese New Year in 2022.
The Chinese New Year celebration holds immense importance in the eyes of Asian people across the world, with the start of the Lunar New Year signaling a new beginning for everyone.
When Hong Kong Tourism Board came up with their requirements for a Chinese New Year gift hamper for their valued partners, we new we had to put our best foot forward to make this work.
The Colour Red
Even before getting to the actual components of the hamper, getting the packaging right in the right colour was our first priority. The colour red symbolizes good fortune and joy, so we made sure that our packaging used a rich hue of red that conveyed this message thoroughly.
Red Envelopes
At Lunar New Year, it’s tradition to give the gift of a bright, beautiful red envelope to your friends and family. But not just any old envelope. These are filled with money – and symbolize good wishes and luck for the new year ahead.
For this hamper, we created red envelopes filled with gold coin chocolates to impart the same traditions to the tourism board’s trusted partners.
Other than this, the hamper was full of things meaningful to Chinese culture including stuff like:
- Jasmine Tea Leaves
- Sunflower Seeds
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Red Dates
- Salted Cashew Nuts
- Apricots
All in all, this was an exciting project for us at Handtribe as we were able to make a gifting solution that was culturally significant and matched our client’s expectations.
